![]() ![]() With the table at eye level, play can be quite enjoyable.Īlthough not as common, there are also larger tables made for older LEGO fans. This may sound uncomfortable to you, but young kids often prefer to sit on the floor instead of a chair. Plenty of shorter LEGO tables are designed for children to sit on the floor or kneel to play. Tables of this size should be around the correct height for smaller kids to stand and play. This is ideal for kids who like to sit in a seat while playing. Some LEGO tables are just the right height for you to place a kid-sized chair underneath. Make sure your chosen LEGO table stands at the correct height for your child and is compatible with how they like to play. Note that some LEGO tables don't have base plates all the way up to the edge, so the size of the building area might be smaller than the overall size of the tabletop. Once you've decided what general size category your child requires, check product dimensions. Older children, on the other hand, might prefer to have a large space to work with, so they can create a big build that stays in place for some time. Younger kids are usually happy to craft fairly compact buildings and models, knock them down, and start again. Think about how much room to build your child needs. Others are more suited to smaller builds. Some LEGO tables are large enough to accommodate huge, ambitious projects. Considerations for selecting a LEGO table Tabletop size Check before you make your purchase if this is important to you. We want the more advanced pieces in the bigger piece sets. Some LEGO tables come with kid-sized chairs, but others do not. We recently bought a pull back lego car base and duplos work on it and that has been the best purchase lately. As most of the toys that are appropriate at this age are still bigger. We make some pretty intricate structures as is, but would love to do more. We only wish that there could be a duplo upgrade for older kids who still want to use duplo, where we can have some flat 2x2 or 1x1 pieces, different specials. He is a giant so the small pieces are hard for him to use. We sold off our mega blocks since they never got used. He mostly just sticks blocks on baseplates for now but he loves playing on the big kids builds. Even at 10 mo my youngest saw the other kids building and learned how to stack the blocks. They have a nice color variety and we like adding them to our duplo sets. Megablocks does make a duplo compatible version, right now they are hot wheels themes but in the past they have been disney, shimmer and shine, thomas and other. They werent stable enough, they couldnt build anything really cool. Guess this is an old tread, but just wanted to add my opinion. Its enough for both kids and 1 parent to play without dumping all out. ![]() Right now, they fill 2 20qt bins and those are a great way to divide them. We have a mix of name brand and generic and have so many already and kiddo's 3rd birthday is tuesday and i know we're getting several sets then and i need to buy another bin. ![]() I should note though that we rarely leave the kids alone with duplos, its usually a family qctuvity and its super frustrating for me when baby destroys my building, grrrr. It was a duplos day all day actually, duplos and tv since my husband is recovering from his cold right now and im deep in it. She playing with them right now while my husband does bedtime with the 3yo because i have a cold and am not feel like doing anything. We dont use megabloks anymore, but thats because we also have a 3yo and they both play with duplos together baby girl is 16mo and we haven't used megabloks since the 3yo turned 2.5. ![]()
